Once we had found the way in , a warm welcome awaited us from the headmaster of Kingham Primary School, Christopher Lamming. We set up 5 telescopes in the main public car park as it was much easier than hauling all the gear into the school grounds plus the view was not obscured by trees. It was a blue sky evening and following a well received talk , pupils , parents and teachers enjoyed views of Jupiter and a slight crescnt Venus plus a quite spectacular Moon. Despite the later evening everyone had their fill plus a pupil had brough along his own telescope which he learnt how to set it up to get the best out of it. A great evening and a fitting end to our Stargazing and Winter season. We now swithc to very late night observing and Solar observing sessions – no piece for the wicked !
